How to choose the right blade?

Updated: Mar 29, 2022

Type of segment

Zenesis diamond blades are characterized by a large variety of segments, adapted to the processing of different stones. The type of abrasive material is an important factor in selecting the correct diamond blade.

Harder granites such as bengal black, impala, star galaxy (5-6 on the Mohs scale) require a diamond grit with a softer diamond blend to ensure adequate segment wear at an optimal rate. The soft segment guarantees a clean and economical cut in demanding materials.

Suitable blades for these types of materials:

Very hard granites such as Viscount White, Andromeda White, Azul Bahia, Copacabana (7-9 on the Mohs scale) require a diamond grit with an incredibly soft diamond blend to ensure adequate segment wear at an optimal rate. The soft segment guarantees a clean and economical cut in demanding materials.

Suitable blades for these types of materials:

Soft materials such as Bianco Carrara Marble, Bardiglio (2-4 Mohs) tend to wear the segments faster. The appropriate selection of the segment is a key element in the processing of such demanding materials.

Suitable blades for these types of materials:

Quartzites, such as the Taj Mahal and Patagonia, belong to the group of hard materials (7 on the Mohs scale). The key element in quartzite processing is the selection of specialized processing equipment. The segment should be properly prepared for the requirements of difficult material.
